You can see our classic designs by Hans J. Wegner in the new showroom in Allerød.
A very large part of the Danish design icons of the 20th century – such as the Teddy Bear Chair pp19 (1953), the Flag Halyard Chair pp225 (1950) or the Peacock Chair pp550 (1947) – were designed and realised by Hans J. Wegner.
In total, Hans J. Wegner has designed more than 1,000 models, including The Chair pp501/pp503 – perhaps the most famous Danish furniture design.
Before studying architecture, Hans J. Wegner completed a first-class craftsman’s training, so that he not only devoted himself to the form of his furniture, but also to its complex manufacture.
With one of his fellow craftsmen, Ejnar Pedersen from PP Møbler, he realised the most unusual and technically complex designs.
