With this table, Wegner has downscaled the pp85 Cross Legged Table and created a table that serves a different purpose. And whereas this excercise usually don’t work for most objects, the crossing legs and simple stretchers makes such a superbly balanced design concept that this smaller version has got a natural beauty and function of it’s own.
The characteristically crossed legs are really just a simple and elegant solution to a basic requirement that table legs should take up as little space as possible, making the table more occupant-friendly and more adaptable to various settings.
